Genesis 1:9-13

9

 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֗ים יִקָּו֨וּ הַמַּ֜יִם מִתַּ֤חַת הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ אֶל־מָק֣וֹם אֶחָ֔ד וְתֵרָאֶ֖ה הַיַּבָּשָׁ֑ה וַֽיְהִי־כֵֽן׃

"And Elohim said, 'let the waters under the heavens be gathered into one place and let the dry land appear, and it was so."

-  יִקָּו֨וּ ( v. niphal 3rd person masculine plural - קָוָה) = gathered

-  מִתַּ֤חַת (preposition - מִן + תַּחַת) = under

-  מָק֣וֹם (n. masculine singular  - מָקוֹם) = place

-  וְתֵרָאֶ֖ה (v. niphal imperfect 3rd person feminine singular  - ראה) = and let appear

-  הַיַּבָּשָׁ֑ה (n. feminine singular - יַבָּשָׁה) = the dry (land)

 וַיִּקְרָ֨א אֱלֹהִ֤ים׀ לַיַּבָּשָׁה֙ אֶ֔רֶץ וּלְמִקְוֵ֥ה הַמַּ֖יִם קָרָ֣א יַמִּ֑ים וַיַּ֥רְא אֱלֹהִ֖ים כִּי־טֽוֹב׃

"And Elohim called the dry land 'earth,' and the gathered waters he called 'seas.' And Elohim saw that it was good.

- לַיַּבָּשָׁה֙ ( n. feminine singular -  יַבָּשָׂה) = Dry ground
- וּלְמִקְוֵ֥ה ( n. masculine singular const. -  מַקְוֶה) = a collection
- יַמִּ֑ים  (n. masculine plural  - יָם) = seas

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֗ים תַּֽדְשֵׁ֤א הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ דֶּ֔שֶׁא עֵ֚שֶׂב מַזְרִ֣יעַ זֶ֔רַע עֵ֣ץ פְּרִ֞י עֹ֤שֶׂה פְּרִי֙ לְמִינ֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר זַרְעוֹ־ב֖וֹ עַל־הָאָ֑רֶץ וַֽיְהִי־כֵֽן׃

"And Elohim said, 'let the earth produce vegetation: seed bearing plants, and trees bearing fruit which carries it's seed, each according to its kind, and it was so. 

- תַּֽדְשֵׁ֤א ( v. hiphil - imperfect jussive, 3rd person feminine singular - דָּשָׁא ) = to sprout
- דֶּ֔שֶׁא  ( n. masculine singular - דֶּשֶׁא ) = grass 

- עֵ֚שֶׂב   (n. masculine singular - עֶשֶׂב) =  herb, herbage

-  מַזְרִ֣יעַ (v. hiphil participle masculine singular  - זָרַע) = yeilding

-  זֶ֔רַע (n. masculine singular  - זֶרַע ) = seed

-  פְּרִ֞י (n. masculine singular - פְרִי ) = fruit

-  עֹ֤שֶׂה (v. Qal Participle, masculine singular  - עָשָׂה) = (that) yeilds

- לְמִינ֔וֹ ( n masculine singular - מִין ) = kind, species

- אֲשֶׁ֥ר  ( pronoun - relative - אֲשֶׁר ) = who, which, that

- זַרְעוֹ (n. masculine singular  - זֶרַע ) = a sowing, seed, offspring

- ב֖וֹ (preposition 3rd person masculine singular - ) = in itself

וַתּוֹצֵ֨א הָאָ֜רֶץ דֶּ֠שֶׁא עֵ֣שֶׂב מַזְרִ֤יעַ זֶ֙רַע֙ לְמִינֵ֔הוּ וְעֵ֧ץ עֹֽשֶׂה־פְּרִ֛י אֲשֶׁ֥ר זַרְעוֹ־ב֖וֹ לְמִינֵ֑הוּ וַיַּ֥רְא אֱלֹהִ֖ים כִּי־טֽוֹב׃

"And the earth bore vegetation, plants bearing seeds according to its kind, and trees bearing fruit which carries it's seed according to it's kind, and Elohim saw that it was good. 

- וַתּוֹצֵ֨א ( v. hifil consecutive imperfect, 3rd person masculine singular  - יָצָא) = and brought fourth
- לְמִינֵ֔הוּ (n. masculine singular - מִין)  = kind, species

 וַֽיְהִי־עֶ֥רֶב וַֽיְהִי־בֹ֖קֶר י֥וֹם שְׁלִישִֽׁי׃ פ

"And there was an evening and a morning. Day 3."

-  שְׁלִישִֽׁי ( number, ordinal masculine singular) =  three
