Mark Chapter 3

1 Again, he entered into the synagogue, and there was a man there with a withered hand. 2 They were watching him, to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so they might accuse him. 3 So he said to the man with the withered hand,

"Get up here in front of everyone."

4 Then he said to them,

"Is it lawful on the Sabbath, to do good or to do evil? To save life,' or to kill?"

But they were silent.

5 Looking around at them angrily, beause he was grieved at their hardheartedness, he said to the man,
"Stretch out your hand."

And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

6 When he left, the Pharisees immediately began to conspire with the Herodians, how they might kill him. 7a So Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed.

8 So from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, beyond the Jordan, and around Tyre and Sidon, a great crowd came to him, having heard about how much he was doing. 9 He told his disciples to prepare a boat for him, because of the crowd, so they would not hem him in. 10 He had healed many, so those with diseases were crowd around him to try and touch him. 11 And when the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him, and cried out,  saying,

"You are the Son of God."

12 But he rebuked them severely, so they would not reveal him.

13 Jesus went up on the mountain and called to himself those he wanted; and they went to him. 14 Then he appointed twelve, so that they might be with him, and so that he might send them to preach, 15 and to have power to cast out demons." 16 And he appointed the twelve; Simon, to whom he gave the name Peter.v17 Jacob the son of Zebadee and his brother John, to whom he gave the name Boanerges, that is "Sons of Thunder," 18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, Jacob the son of Alphaeus, Thaddeus, and Simon the Zealot, 19 and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

20 Then he came to a house, and a crowd came together again, so that they were not even able to eat a simple meal. 21 Having heard of this, his relatives came to take custody of him, saying,

                "He's actually lost his mind".

22 And the scribes, having come down from Jerusalem, said,

"He has Beelzebul, and by the prince of demons he casts out demons."

23 But having called them to himself, he spoke to them in parables saying,

"How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom
cannot stand." 25 and if a house is divided against itself , that house cannot stand."
26 and if Satan has risen up against himself and has been divided, he cannot stand, but is
done for."  27 For no one can enter the house of the strong man to steal his possessions,
unless he has bound the strong man first; then he will plunder his house." 28 Truly I say
to you that all the sins and blasphemies of the sons of men will be forgiven, as many as
they have blasphemed will be forgiven." 29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy
Spirit will never be forgiven, for all eternity, but is guilty of an eternal sin."

30 because they said, 'he has an unclean spirit."

31 Then his mother and brothers arrived, and standing outside, sent word to him. 32 But a crowd sat around him, so they said to him,

"Look, your mother, your brothers are outside looking for you."

33 and answering them he says, who are my mother, and my brothers?" 34 and having looked around at those who were sitting around him in a circle, he said

"Look around.  Here are my mother, and my brothers! 35 For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother, and sister and mother."
